Ask Her,
by Andy Brenner
Swinging out on a Saturday night
Can’t see through the wine in my half empty cup
Finding out fast that I’m not who I used to be
I’m finding out fast that I’m all fed up
You can keep your misery
You can keep your pity for me
I maybe be lonely, but hey, I’m happy
I’m feeling alright
I’ve got friends all around me
I’m picking up speed, picking up speed
Who’s really counting?
And you’ve got a fast car
Mine’s even faster
And maybe someday, maybe someday
I’ll find the nerve to ask her.
I think I saw her look my way
Well, maybe it wasn’t my way at all
Got me thinking, “well…what if…” or “maybe…”
Got me thinking that I could fall
For every smile and every spell
For every story that she’d tell
I may be dreaming but hey, I’m happy
Don’t you see that smile in me again
I found it on the floor there in the haystack
It’s been lost for a while
Probably just a little too long
Seeing her just brought it back
Maybe it was destiny
Maybe it was really me
I may be crazy, but hey, I’m happy
